Moderation Rules and Guidelines
  • Should any posting on the WSCC boardroom require moderation, for any reason, the first action taken will be to hide the posting from public view pending investigation. Deletion shall be carried out only at the end of the moderation process before a moderation report is closed.
  • All moderation shall be initiated and tracked backstage via a moderation report. These may be initiated by moderators in some circumstances to allow all moderation to be audited and to allow discussion between moderators.
  • The following Items shall be deemed appropriate for immediate moderation without the need for consultation with other moderators or delay:
  • Pornographic or adult postings;
  • Legally defamatory or libellous postings without substance - better to hide and then show than open the club to pecuniary damages;
  • Copyright material or other Intellectual property not belonging to the poster;
  • Trademarks or other associations with a company that do not exist.
  • All other items for consideration for moderation shall be reported firstly by a member. Where this member is also a moderator, they shall be considered not to hold the role of moderator for any further decision making purpose.
  • Where possible, the decision to moderate a member reported posting or topic shall be made by no less than two moderators.
  • In all cases the member being moderated shall have a PM sent to them explaining the reasons for the moderation and the likely course of action that will follow. Where necessary a post may also be put in place to explain to the membership the reasons why the moderation has occurred.
  • Other member’s posts may require moderation due to quoting or otherwise referring to an offending post. Where this is necessary it is recommended that the individuals also be send a message via PM. An alternative to this is to post within the topic as necessary or seen fit.
  • Where a member report is deemed not to be moderated the reporting member or members should be send messages via PM with a brief reason for the decision by the moderators.

    Everyone must register a username with the site, which cannot contain any commercial reference unless that account has the paid status of WSCC Sponsor, Trader or Advertiser. To register a username you must give a valid e-mail address that MUST be spelt correctly and be working. Remember you are solely responsible for the content you write here. Any comment that is libelous, defamatory or obscene may result is serious liability to the poster as well as the club. By joining and posting in this forum you agree and understand that you are liable for the content you write here. If in doubt don't post.

    Registration of any membership name that implies connection with any organisation or position that is spurious or non-existent will result in membership being revoked

    Please remember that we are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. All messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of the Club or the moderators of this Message Board. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.

    You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this Message Board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violates any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this Message Board.

    Adverts may be posted under the following conditions:

    Personal adverts may be posted by fully paid up WSCC Members in any member advert section of the site.

    Adverts on behalf of other identifiable club members may also be made by a club member in these sections.

    Adverts on behalf of non-members must be made into the External Adverts section of the site. Any adverts that do not abide by the above rules will be removed or moved to the External Adverts section of the website.

    Members may NOT post adverts on behalf of companies or commercial bodies.

    Sponsors and Trade members may post commercial adverts in the relevant advert section of the site. These can offer any product or service for website users. Where a special offer is made to club members only this should be apparent in the advert with any conditions.

    Sponsors and Trade members may respond to posts with offers of products and services RELEVANT to the posters query or problem.

    Non-members may post adverts during their initial 30-Day Trial Membership period to the External Adverts section either as links to another site or as full adverts.

    Bulk Buys

    Bulk buys shall be offered by commercial entities is such a way as to ensure that the contractual relationship is directly with each purchasing member. In practice, this means most bulk buy companies should consider trade membership to advertise and offer their bulk buy or members discount schemes.

    Where a member is able to bring a special offer, this may be approved by the committee as a special bulk buy offered to the members.

    On Topic Sections

    The sections ‘Newbies’, ‘Technical Talk’ and ‘FAQ’ will be necessarily pruned to keep posts on topic and to prevent wander.

    Posts in these areas may be subject to moving or pruning by moderators where thread drift or off topic items are posted.
