Pre MOT jitters

TAFKARM

Recommended Posts

I've got my first MOT this afternoon using a new test centre since I've moved house.

I've checked the lights all work, I'm on a Q plate so no emissions, no windscreen and only one seat so there can't be much to fail it on...

Time will tell...

Passed!

The usual shanter when any mechanic sees the car

"I've got a 1.9 CVH that will destroy this"

"What did you put a duratec in for"

"I used to race but they banned because i was winning everything"

I'll smile and nod if it means a pass!

Thats so funny - I just grin and bare it for the 40minutes and get out, means to an end sadly. Had the same when I used to take my WRX there, how far can you drift it etc etc  ....

The chap at my usual MoT place races a Triumph Spitfire so he's definitely got cojones of steel!

mine failed on cracked steering gaiters and a bit of "play" on the rear wheel which turned out to be a bolt that needed nipping up on the bush. NMS sorted the MOT so the garage issued the cert and they fixed the issues.

ironically when they were fitting the new bushes I noticed the ball joint gaiter was also damaged so I guess its a new one of those at some point.

all in all not bad and its legal again for a year.
