Haven't seen any joint trackdays with the Ford mob or have I missed them?

Seems to be a lack of WSCC trackdays as well, must admit looking for the discount

Agreed - I don't know why the 'club' Trackdays have stopped :(

Steve made a post about the "club days" a while ago, seem to remember he felt interest had waned a little or something?

Generally I think it was (and still is) a difficult thing to do what with the costs/insurance/organisation/etc. Not that it is something we would NOT want to do. Also, I believe, as above, that interest waned and therefore difficult to justify.

Do we feel there is a renewed genuine interest and commitment from Members to do a WSCC hosted track day...?

There is from me, even if rather than a WSCC hosted day it was a "as a club we are all attending Donington on xyx organisers day on whatever date".

We have just attended a Bristol Pegasus MC track day at Castle Combe as part of the Cooper Registers 'Coopers at Combe' event. Essentially they just organise within the Cooper club who wants to attend and agree with Bristol Pegasus MC a reserved number of places, which get released on general sale if not filled. On the day, which is a sessioned track day not

open pitlane, all the Minis line up together and the organisers then arrange it so that we go out together and there are only Minis on the track. It's a brilliant way to do it and means those who wouldn't normally take their car on track for fear of other machinery/maniacs are more confident to have a go.

Could be something for the WSCC to look at?

I discussed this with Scott at Stonleigh and he was all for it if somebody came to him with a good proposal it's something I'm planning to look into at Llandow for next year and maybe Castle Combe.

I hope I'm not speaking out of turn, but I think there's a fair amount of enthusiasm for ideas like this at committee level, and I've noticed some of the newer members, or in some cases, existing members, but with new builds in the last few years, do seem to be quite keen on the TD's, so it may well be an idea with legs!

The club has I believe, done some big event style club only TD's in the past, (quite a bit in the past), but once things like insurance costs were figured in, towards the end, the amount of money the club had to put in really passed the level at which you'd say we were just subsidising it.

That said, ideas such as Barney's have been done in the past, too; and worked extremely well, where the WSCC has a sort of block booking within an existing organized event.

The committee is ALWAYS keen to hear proposals for new and or different events for members, and we do like to, (hope to) strike a balance between the different sort of events that different members enjoy, we'd love to have something for everyone!

The Action Days castle combe run would be a ideal start point for people that haven't been on track as you could book some sessions through the club and then know it was guaranteed to be all club members in similar cars.

last time I did it with two Briskoda forum only sessions it worked out just over £50,that includes your entry ticket to the show and a designated area for your club parking.

I think if you are planning full track days the track needs to be more centrally placed in the country than either of those two to attract more interest.

I often wonder if that affects numbers at Blyton at all, it's an awkward one to get to from my side of the country, compared to the actual (relatively short) distance away that it actually is.

I wonder if tracks like Rockingham might be better placed for more people? Then again, would it have the draw...

Blyton is a bit of a haul, so IMO if doing the trackday you need to allow a couple of overnights camping to make the most of it

Rockingham is a good venue

Silverstone is central as well, but very expensive!
