Rebuilt Seight V8 with very interesting background!

Had the privilege of seeing this car while it was part way through an extremely detailed rebuild at an awesome traditional racecar workshop. Amazing spec and attention to detail, road legal, frighteningly quick on track and a great bit of history with it. Proper hairy chested Westfield, not many like this around!...

"Original Seight chassis totally re-designed by renowned Chevron and Reynard designer Paul Brown. The chassis has substantially more triangulation than a standard chassis together with additional bracing for the roll cage. A bespoke shear plate was engineered to create a sandwich plate at the bulkhead to allow the engine to bolt directly to the plate and then the gearbox to increase rigidity, allow the engine to sit further back in the chassis and lower down.

The car also has bespoke wishbones front and rear, magnesium uprights from a Lola T70. The hubs are cenrelock.

The chassis was totally stripped and sand blasted and rebuilt on a granite table to ensure everything was straight. This cost in excess of £14,000."

Looks great but why go to all that trouble and put odd sized front wheel and mixed tyres on it. Something is wrong as the rest looks great. It won't help sell it. It's been there for a while now.

It might have been. Certainly some of the rebuild photos have been on here before, I'm sure posted by one of its previous owners, whilst they were a member. I can't for the life of me think who it was right now though.

Found the old thread, here -

It was Mike from Apex Trackdays that owned it, posted on here as 8 Pots. Not been around though since June of last year.

Yep did used to be a Kawasaki green colour, definitely noticed it coming up in your mirrors on a trackday! Haha

Mike is less involved in cars now and seems it's time to move the car on to somewhere it'll get some use.
