Simpson exhaust - IN FOR FITTING

Cleggy the Spyder Man

Recommended Posts

Think I am going to take the plunge and book my car in for a new manifold and exhaust -

I want the car to be as quiet as possible and if possible release a few horses (not sure if you can do both)

So has anyone had a full simpson setup fitted recently and what did it cost - pm me if you like

Thanks in advance

Cleggy

There is a group buy advert on here somewhere that gave prices.  depending if high or low exit, polished or brushed and with or without CAT I would budget between £1100 and £1500

Simpsons were great when I took mine to them and asked them to make it as quiet as possible. They made a 7" diameter repackable silencer as long as they could sensibly fit and connected it to my existing manifold. They kept my car so everything fitted perfectly.

well finally got it booked in - not sure on cost yet as spec may change when I get there after a measure up - but not expecting much, if any change from £1700 - ouch!

I dont doubt however that it will be a work of art and my ears will appreciate it and you cannot put a price on that :suspect:

Cleggy.  Make sure you are clear how you want the silencer to align relative to the body.

The factory silencer is quite short and tends to run almost parallel to the rear section of the tub.

With the long silencer that Matt will suggest he normally takes an average between front and rear angles.

He has always let me leave my trailer there in a safe place which saves hassle when collecting and dropping it off.

He asked me how I wanted mine to fit, I said I'd like it to look as neat as possible ie no weird angles but left it to his judgement - I think it looks ace.

car dropped off at Matts this morning - Jim gave us a guided tour of the facility and Matt went through my requirements

Opted for bonnet exit and 8" can - going to be a whopper but quiet :t-up:
