Westfield SEIW race / sprint car NOW SOLD

It is time to sell my 2005 built, 2015 season Westfield SEIW race car. The car has been the subject of much development and money over the past 12 months as we prepped it for racing, and has wanted for nothing on the time that I have owned it.

It was bought originally from Terry Everall on this forum, who had previously bought it from another forum member. I had the car for sale this time last year and then decided to try racing for 12 months, I'm now hooked and looking at being able to upgrade to an International C licence early this year. As a result we're racing a Porsche Boxster S in various endurance races in 2016.

We raced the car in 2015 with Classic Sports Car Club in their Magnificent 7s series and Open Races.

It fits into Group 2 for Mag 7s. This car would be equally at home in either 750mc Sports Specials, Northern Saloon & Sports car championship or CNC Heads Sports/Saloon championship to name a few.

The car has been looked after by Solutions Racing in Brighthampton, Oxfordshire for all preparation and race support. They are available to talk about the car if needed.

So, the details are as follows -

Car is currently SORN and had a fresh MoT on 30th November after the race season finished. All it needs to be used on the road is number plates. The V5 is here and in my name.

There is some cracking on the gel coat on the rear right hand side they are only superficial and we think caused by petrol being spilled when refuelling. There is a small piece of the gel coat missing from the driver’s rear wheel arch, likely caused by a stone from a gravel trap. This is a race / track car and not a garage queen.

This is a very quick car, I'm not an expert on the Speed Series Regs, but a quick look shows that it would fit into several classes.

Car is priced at a very competitive £15,000. It is available for viewing / inspection at my home in Longhope, Gloucestershire. Feel free to contact me via the forum or on 07764 176 276.

Many thanks
Rich

Blimey, Ive not seen my old car for ages. Always wondered what became of it.

Originally built from a new kit and SVA'd by me back in 2005 and competed in the Speed Series in class F fora season before I went bike engined

Pleased its continued to be used for racing and has been upgraded along the way.

Looking at the pictures a lot is as I remember it.

Good luck with the sale, would be great to see it back in the speed series.

Someone is going to get a great car.

Mark, I remember the year after I bought it seeing you at Autosport helping on the PlaySkool stand, hence why the car shortly afterwards ended up with their belts and roll cage on it!

Will be really sad to see it go, we had some tremendous races last year in it, but the longer endurance stuff is very unfriendly to these types of car. With the Boxster we'll be able to do stints of 90-120 mins.

Trailer has been removed from the sale. Car has now had all the stickers removed and has has a good clean, it is sat in the garage waiting for potential new owners to come and see it.

Nice car RichUK and good luck for the sale.

It looks to be well prepared and i'm sure a competitive car.

RichUK - did the ZZR's not go off during a 40 minute race?

No, in the dry they are fantastic. We worked out we could put 1.2g through them before they break traction, even at the end of a race. Our race tyres still have life on them, after five x 40 min races plus qualifying last year.

Are they medium compound? Would like to get your advice on the CSCC Mag 7's by the way.

Yes, medium compound. More than happy to talk Mag 7s. We'll also be at all the CSCC race meetings this year if you want a natter in person.

Drop me a line if you want to have a racing chat, always happy to talk through our experiences.

Car & trailer was picked up today, off for a career in hillclimbing. I'm looking forward to seeing it at Prescott later in the year.
