Evening all,

I hope you don't mind me posting this here (and certainly not wishing to detract from the Westfield sprints), but there seemed to be a bit of interest in last year's series so I thought I'd let you all know that the 2016 series has now been announced.

There is a new website at http://www.javelinsprintdays.co.uk/ for all details, booking etc. They've tweaked the class structure slightly as well - still deliberately 'open'. Most Westfields will fit into class B though:

Class B Specialist Vehicles - Lotus Seven & kit car style vehicles, single seaters, Radicals, etc.

Subclass

1 - Max Power, Radicals, Atoms & High Performance Aero type vehicles - Max Power, Turbo or 2000cc+ 4WD vehicles
2 – High Power, High performance vehicles, high capacity car or bike engined, minor aero  High Power, Turbo or 2000cc+ 2WD vehicles
3 – Medium Power, The average Lotus Seven type vehicle or lower spec single seater – Medium Power, NA Vehicles between 1600cc – 2000cc
4 – Low Power,  Generally vehicles with the smaller engines – Low Power, Most vehicles under 1600cc

I'll be at most, if not all rounds next year. Javelin have now split out from the Toyota Sprint Series so there'll be more spaces this year, and still plenty of track time. It'd be great to see some of you there :)

You could drive a double decker through those classes!

Apart from WSCC SS classes... Last year I often felt I was driving a double decker when compared to other cars in my class on the day.

Looks like there are actually 16 classes, Ben has only mentioned 'Class B' which is the one suitable for Westfields. There's also A, C and D with 4 sub-categories in each of those too. Guess the idea is that it's a 'catch all' and a bit more fun than serious. Pretty certain I'll have a go at a couple of these.

"Low power" then. Sounds good. Might give Snetterton and Woodbridge a go  ;)

Will probably see you at snetterton David

If it helps, I'll be in C3 with ~160bhp and ~600kg. A friend of mine with a Hayabusa-powered MK Indy (195bhp and 500kg) will be in C2.

I'd recommend joining the Facebook page for anyone interested in joining some/all of the events. Plenty of discussion there, along with all sorts of interesting cars coming out of the woodwork...

Edit: now booked on for the first round in Blyton. Now I just need to put my car back together...

Quick heads up for anyone interested - apparently Javelin have had to tweak the locations slightly. I've updated the picture in the first post accordingly.

The opportunity to do Oulton Park is an attraction, I am not aware of any other sprints running there ??

Really interested in this, I hillclimbed and sprinted quite regularly 20 odd years ago before wife, children, mortgage etc and have bought the ex Paul Pocklington / Richard Abrahams all steel crossflow powered SEi with a view to returning.

Never going to be a regular competitor due to other commitments so haven't entered the WSCC speed championship but the thought of up to 8 timed runs and less hassle in terms of the correct overalls, helmets, tyres etc does seem very attractive. I have just bought some Toyo R888 SG to make me MSA eligible and have a license anyway but was going to have to buy overalls, gloves and helmet (£400?).

Looks like the first Blyton is full but think I will be at the second!!
