Darrell O'Neill
Can anyone recommend a supplier of refurbished or second hand iPads? I have a 9yr old son with learning difficulties and special needs, there are some great learning apps available. He regularly uses mine but with the amount of work stuff I have on mine it's never a comfortable feeling letting him use it. So, with Xmas coming up it seems like a sensible thing to get, but even in an armoured case there is still a possibility of damage and a secondhand unit makes more sense. Any suggestions or advice? TAFKARM
Does it have to be an iPad Darrell? You can pick up an android based tablet for £100. Admittedly, if it were me, I'd get an iPad!
Darrell O'Neill
I use an iPad and I'm a little more familiar with the parental controls etc, that's all. Also, there seems more apps available and he uses an iPad in school. It's not about the money really, but it just makes sense to lessen the impact on my wallet if he breaks a secondhand one. Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO
Ok I've just spoken to my son, since he bought his 2 the price of the basic Ipad has dropped and the re-furbed ones from reputable suppliers ones are only about £20 - £30 cheaper than a brand new one. You can get them cheaper on Ebay, but there's always a risk involved on there, iyswim.
corsechris
Have you tried Apple themselves for a refurb? Got one for my a uncle from them a while back. Seemed reasonable value and it came with a good guarantee. Only problem as such is they don't always have every model available.
