Sounded 'odd' for a while before it let go. Could you hear that under the helmet?

Didn't hear anything at the time really. But it looks like a lower con rod bolt gave way and the the one on the other side might have held for a while which made the funny noise.

 

Then that one gave way and the crank smashed the rod through both sides of the block!
