7seater child carrying chariot

Hi everyone, im after a mpv style chariot for the kids. Must be diesel with seven seats, as new as possible and mileage irrelevant if its got the history.

Kids want all the bells and whistles ( armrests, elec windows and teatrays), im not too bothered as long as its not a poverty model!

Maybe a verso, s max or galaxy.

The limiting thing really is my budget of 5k

Please pm me with anything you think suitable.

Thanks

May do a deal with my Westfield for the ideal child chariot. This must have all the toys and be no more than 12k :-( orders is orders, my wife strongly suggested i include this in the ad, but I'm sure no one on here is interested in Westfields :-)

Just tell the Mrs.  Westfields are not fetching good money at the mo due to the onset of winter.

As for carting the nippers around, how about the yankee tanks such as the Chrysler Voyager/Dodge Journey.  Lots off  space for clutter that women and kids like hauling around with them.

Cheers fellas. I hadn't even considered the American offerings, I'll take a closer look.

As for pulling the wool over the wifes eyes, she unfortunately knows all my tricks.

Wife previously had a c4 Picasso and it was great. Grand Picasso would fit the bill.

Was the exclusive model she had so had all the bells and whistles on it and being a sh!treon you would get a fairly young car for your 5k.

I would check out the safety ratings on the American chariots - it has been quite a while since I looked but I remember some of their offerings were very poor in safety terms in relation to their European counterparts

just something to consider as it is for the wee ones :t-up:

I would concur with you, Cleggy.  I know the older ones were not brilliant in a crash, don't know about the new ones.

Of course, if you don't like your kids, this really isn't an issue.

My dad said to my sister in the middle of one of her full-on teenage episodes, "I brought you into this world, and I can take you back out of it and make another one look just like you."  He never laid a finger on any of us, but it did get her attention!

Oohhh Sh!treon, a swearword in any mans book i think. Really put off French cars due to bad experience with a Peugeot money pit years ago.

The Grand C4 Picasso isn't actually a bad shout John - I've had several of these and they've all been spot on. Typical French rattles from trim etc but the Diesel engines are very good, and the interior ergonomics are some of the best I've seen. A few decent looking motors about within your Westy-saving price range too.

Seriously mate, sit in one and drive it before you dismiss it - they are good.

How about this....

with room for further expansion  :d

And cheap enough to keep the Westie  :getmecoat:

Haha. You devil Dave, I've now realised the best contraception is to leave it alone!

I have been reading about the citroen but feel the 1.6 would be well underpowered and the auto gets poor reviews.

Maybe I'm just once bitten twice shy.

Try it mate, the 1.6 hdi is 110bhp and a pokey motor. If you could stretch to a 2.0 hdi you'd be fine. The auto is an electronically shifted manual box, so is actually really nice to drive - you have to give it time as it takes a little getting used to, but I liked them. Bit like a dog box! A little throttle lift on change and you're away! Ha ha!

Or what about a SEAT Alhambra? They're really well specced.

In My Opinion you cant beat a VW Touran. 7 seats when you need them and 50mpg!

Mine is the 1.6 turbo diesel and tows the Westfield and trailer with ease!
