Howdy all

Looking for a quick rack to replace my standard escort rack please - standard track wishbones.

Has anyone got one spare they'd be willing to sell or a good source for these please?

Thanks

Barny

You need to do some research as you have Cortina uprights and can't change your steering arms, so you may need to go a little quicker than the std 2.4 quick rack s that are available.

Thanks mate, been looking into it this evening and seems like a minefield of dodgy quality, not what they actually say racks. Will keep researching!

Whilst I remember, if you want the roll bar head pads for the low back seats Matt has, let me know and I'll bring them to the meet week Thursday.

What about short legs, can we do that joke?

Thanks David, appreciate that! I've decided to go with a Triton seat as based on my little test at Loton, it felt the sturdiest and best sized for me, so it's very kind of you but won't be needed. Also having seen how much force the seat takes in the event of going backwards into an Armco, would rather a flexi seat takes some of the load of the helmet rather than a metal bar & pad.

You don't happen to have a spare quick rack in your Westfield emporium though do you??

See you a week Thursday!

I do have a new quick rack. I can't recall if 2.2 or 2.4   I'm not looking to sell but you are welcome to borrow and test in your car to see if it gives what you want before ordering.

Cheers David, think I'll try and get one sorted so I only have to fit once, really appreciate the offer though.

Mart - was your first post suggesting I should look at the 2.2 over the 2.4?

I was doing quite a lot on my car yesterday.  As we discussed, steering wheel is coming off.

As a test I found that I can only turn my wheel about 1.7 turns from full lock to lock.

This seems less than others?  How many turns does yours take?

Regards

Sounds like you have lock stops fitted to limit the stroke of the rack. 1.9 to 1 is the lowest I've ever heard off and that was one of the very rare and expensive adapted Titan racks

For what it is worth I have the Rally Design quick rack on Cortina Up-rights and it has seemed to work OK for a few years now!

2.4 which is fast enough for me!

When it comes to correcting a slide I have a feeling a too fast a rack can induce over correction but that is only in my experience others may have other views!
