Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted May 29, 2015 Share Posted May 29, 2015 If you're planning on doing it Q, be aware that at the Q&A at WSC's recent open day it was mentioned that so few ZK bodywork long range tanks were actually sold now, there was a strong possibility it might be discontinued in the near future. Onliest Smeg David Posted September 5, 2016 Share Posted September 5, 2016 Not sure if you're aware but the standard bootbox will not fit with a long range fuel tank. Although this may not be an issue for you. There definitely isn't a glut of petrol stations in deapest Scotland, but we managed fine with a standard tank on our tour. Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted September 5, 2016 Share Posted September 5, 2016 If that's your plan, Q, and as you say, you have no boot box, then I, with Dave on this, you're better off having somethin made to suit; the factory long range tank was always compromised by the need to fit under the modified boot box and to have the fuel inlet where it did, to match existing cars - the inlet effectively being too low on the tank meant you couldn't use all the extra capacity anyway. DamperMan Posted September 5, 2016 Share Posted September 5, 2016 i've been considering and watching for a long range tank myself. Also considering making one Better baffled and not as flat bottomed. An different idea option I've not really worked out would be a reserve tank... Not the red plastic type but something with a tap or dash board switch to dump a gallon or so fuel into the main tank when empty.
