I hate the WASO VR40

So I knew when I bought the MX5 it had an imoboliser I didn't realy understand what that would mean.

So after I had removed the dash I found the alam controller with 19 unmarked black wires with several little fuse boxes. It looks like a good quantity of the dash must have been out before so that explains the finger tight bolts all over the place.

Well I spent this evening tracing back every black wire into the loom and snipping them out. I even found another black ( actually silver) box hiding behind the ECU panel. The junctions in the wiring seem to be just the old wire stripped and the new one wrapped with a blob of solder over the top and covered with to much black tape.

I think the job us done now and I feel pretty positive I've got everything. I will have to tidy the old joints when I have the loom out of the car. Over the weekend I am going to take out the heater matrix then I think I can remove the loom.
