WANTED - Scuttle - preferably chrome yellow

Cleggy the Spyder Man

Recommended Posts

Having trouble with my hearing and need to get noise down a bit for road touring - so want the option of going full screen and doors and changing back to aero for track days

So has anyone got a screen, pillars, doors, wipers etc they want to sell to fund a change to aero screen?

Also maybe a chrome yellow scuttle - but may accept any colour scuttle etc

Edited - managed to find a screen and wiper system (thanks Rich - see you at Stoneleigh)

Still looking for a SEIW scuttle (preferably chrome yellow - but may consider a black one)

I have a yellow (but not sure if Chrome Yellow) window fillet (is that the right name?), my old wiper motor, reservoir and chrome wipers you can have...

Can bring them to Stoneleigh?

I have just agreed to buy a chrome yellow car that has full windscreen, new pillars, wiper motor, scuttle etc.

I'm toying with the idea of selling for an areo screen.

What are you offering?

Clark - get yourself some proper earplugs.  I got a pair from SpecSavers for c£90 and they are brilliant.  I got the 'motorbike' ones for sound source and yet can still hear passenger talking (not shouting).  They are moulded to your ears and have some sort of object moulded within them to suit sound source.

That's what I used on my bike too - the moulded jobs. Really are very good. Will be seeing service in the Westy very soon (I hope!)

I have some of these :t-up:  http://www.ultimateear.com/products/squidgy.php

They are much better than anything else I have used since I have had my hearing issues - however I want to try to remove the wind noise and general transfer of sound through the body/helmet when sailing at speed

Therefore I think a screen and more importantly doors are going to be my best friend - will allow me to keep the westy long term I hope

Might even get me one of those half hoods made eventually

Clark

I have a alloy windscreen, alloy pillars, chrome wipers, wiper motor and mechanism and a green windscreen fillet. They came with the car but I am leaving the aero screen on, the windscreen has a small chip.

Make me an offer, I can email some pictures if needed.

I will be at Stoneleigh on the Sunday

Regards

Rich

Clark - how symetrical are your ears?  Mine are quite different and that's what makes the moulded ones so successful IMO.  The difference between the squidgy ones and mine is considerable.  I can hear much less noise but still OK with conversation.  I'd get myself to an audiologist for a consultation.  Going deaf is not good.

Hi Martin - the squidgy ones are bespoke made from a mould of my ear so they are sort of as good as it gets - :t-up:

They are not off the shelf ones
