lewis Posted March 26, 2015 Share Posted March 26, 2015 Does anyone have a spare pair of the bonnet pins and the rubber grommets that is used to join the bonnet and nose cone? Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted March 26, 2015 Share Posted March 26, 2015 I managed to loose a grommet the other week; I've put a temporary one in, but it can be tricky getting ones that will fit a thick grp panel. Nicks100 Posted March 26, 2015 Share Posted March 26, 2015 Got my grommets from Westfield a month ago. Did get a passable substitute from Halfords. Not perfect but worked with help from bit of glue! As I will need a solution for fastening my bonnet in the near future and I do not have the pins/grommets are there other possible solutions? Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted March 27, 2015 Share Posted March 27, 2015 I had four latches on the last car, worked fine and they're one of those things you get so used to seeing they sort of disappear after a while. You can catches in black too, which on certain car colours makes them even more discrete. Otherwise you're into fitting a Dzus catch type arrangement. They are a bit loose in their holes but the s/s allen headed screws appear to be threadlocked into the aluminium pins. Lewis is back in the market!
