Probably very long shot, but VDO water temperature gauge swap (my °F for your °C)

Being continental, °F means absolutely nothing to me, so although I've learned to 'ignore everything unless the needle goes past halfway', it would be nicer if I could actually read the gauge instead of some Pavlov reaction...

So this thread is just to see if someone else is maybe more used to °F than °C and happens to have a VDO gauge just like mine!

It is the same as the below one (stock image)

Could you not just get the "picture" changed?

Would bet the gauge itself is the same

It's quite possible that that is possible, but I'm sure I've read that the gauges are not easy to open. Even so, where would you get a new print? I'll have a look at ETB and see what services they offer...

Q.       A simple formula for you  Euro Deciheads        deg Fminus 32 x  5 divide by 9 = °C.

We like our quirky measurements over here :)

  • 4 months later...

I've got a brand new one I never used....but it's got the black background/white letters and the wavy lines with thermometer symbol rather than the text 'WATER'...

...so all in all, no damn good to you I guess.....
