Rory's Dad
Shame this is so poorly worded... There are innumerate cases of people knowingly moving within close proximity of motorsport venues, only to try to have their planning permission revoked or have them closed completely when they take exception to the noise. Signed nonetheless
Lawrie
Yes. I suspect someone's in the middle of a problem One of the local motor club officials had a phone call complaining about the noise. He politely asked if the caller was a resident of the locality, to which the answer was "no I live 30 miles away and just wanted to complain". There wasn't an event on that weekend either. Some buy a cheap house under the flightpath at Heathrow and then complain. It makes no sense
SootySport
I have a distant relative involved in the Mallory Park noise issue. He did say that the majority of the complainants, being his neighbours, were just out to increase the value of their properties if the track could be closed down. jeff oakley
There was one case, cannot remember the details of a noise complaint. They sent out details of events to all residents and between the council and the circuit monitored the complaints. They recorded them as part of the enquiry and unsurprisingly they had complaints on everyday listed. which was strange because many of the dates were made up events when nothing happened at the circuit. In this case the circuit won, however in these days of the internet being used by groups to object to everything going legitimate business is under threat, not only motorsport as the environmental health departments seem to trump everyone where the law is concerned. Meakin
Signed I think it was terrible how the residents were for mallory park. I looked to buy a house at Kirkby mallory and written all over the paperwork was notices that a race circuit was nearby. The estate agent also highlighted it to us. They should never had the power to shut it down like they did. Thankfully it seems to have recovered let's hope so paul
