Hi, I have a leaky brake cylinder on my rear drum brakes, it's a narrow SEi with the alloy Westy diff independant rear end,

What brakes are they?

They are most likely Mk 2 Ford Escort, but there is a chance they are Mk 1 Escort. The difference is that Mk 2 cylinders are bolted firmly to the back plate and the hand brake actuating lever is a separate item. Mk 1 cylinders slide in the back plate and the hand brake actuating lever is built in to the brake cylinder. There is a very small possibility that they are Mk2 Ford Cortina, but I don't think these axle components were ever used much. Westfield used bits from any of these axles to make up the early independent suspensions. This is a good web site for identifying brake bits. It has drawings you can compare http://brakeparts.co.uk/?_escaped_fragment_=/shop/FORD#!/shop/FORD. Found out my live axle is a Mk1 Escort using it.
