Black 'Closed end' pop rivets?

I hadn't realised until I took them out of the box but the Westfield supplied rivets are closed end ones which are obviously good for sealing the rivet at the point where they are secured.

As I am having my panels powder coated I can see I have two options,

1, paint the rivets I have once fitted

2, Try and source some Closed end Black rivets.

I also noticed that the rivets are Aluminium and Steel. Aluminium body with a steel shaft.

I have tried a search but as yet not even found any Black closed end rivets.

Anyone seen any?

i know car builder solutions sell black and white rivets but they arent closed end. tbh until you mentioned it i never noticed

Thanks Bunje

It seems from my searching that Black closed end rivets are hard to come by. I did see those at CBS but like you rightly say they are open as opposed to closed.

It doesn't help with the closed end issue but here is a link for a black non closed ones , for a situation that doesn't need a closed end these are at trade prices :

http://www.beal.org.uk/hardware-fasteners/pop-rivets-black/cat_100082.html

As Ben has put above might be worth a look though , perhaps they could post you a sample ? , would be handy to know whether they are any good or not  .

What size are you using , is it 3.2mm / 1/8th ?

Thanks to both of you.

The rivets I am looking to replace are those for the Aluminium body panels (4mm).

I'll have a look at your links now.

I thought about counting all the fixing holes but figured Westfield must have supplied enough for all the panels and the box I received is of 500.

I might have to start counting. No point buying a lot more than I'll need. Especially at that price :o

Just been thinking about this and I suppose the rivets that really need to be closed are those exposed to the  elements namely  the foot well panels and the floor panels plus external side panels. I'm not sure that the transmission and seat back backpanel warrant being closed rivets.

Any thoughts?
