How My Kid Sees Me Contest

The club is aware that the children of our club members also make sacrifices to support us - so it's also time for the How My Kid Sees Me Contest, sponsored by our lovely friends at A-Plan Insurance.

Get your child to produce an A4-sized piece of artwork (not a photo) with whatever medium they like (pencil, crayon, paint, pen, bearing grease, etc.) of their parent / grandparent / guardian with their Westfield.  There are three age groups: 5-7, 8-10, and 11-13, and a prize for the winner in each group.  I'm especially looking forward to seeing how they see you and your car – not like you think they do, I’ll bet!

The prize for each age group is a £50 cinema voucher so the whole family can enjoy a night out (or two) together at the movies.  (We take no responsibility if your child drags you to a film you don’t want to see!)

The contest is limited to the dependants of regular UK-based WSCC Members, Speed Series Competitors and Area Organisers only - no Traders, Sponsors, or Committee Members.  The contest will also be publicised on the club forums, and the winners announced and shown in the Winter issue of Westfield World to be sent out in December.  One entry per child in your household please – so no problems with 15 separate entries if your surname is Walton!

How To Enter:

Post your entries to How My Kid Sees Me, 74 Radford Road, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire CV31 1JG.  Closing date is midnight on Friday 7th November 2014.  Judging will be done by the Committee and their decision is final.  Please include your name, address and phone number, and the name, age, gender and relationship of the child to the member.  There must be both you and your Westfield shown in the artwork, which must have their name written on the front or back of it.  Entries are the property of the WSCC and A-Plan Insurance, and entries sent by post cannot be returned unless submitted with a self-addressed and appropriately stamped envelope.  You agree to the artwork being published in Westfield World and online in the WSCC forums, or by A-Plan Insurance in any way for promotional purposes, either as extracts or in its entirety.  Prize must be redeemed within 12 months, is non-transferable and no substitute prize or cash equivalent will be offered.

Put your kiddies to work today and get cracking! :t-up:  Thanks again to A-Plan Insurance for sponsoring this contest.

Well, I'm bound to say I'm a tad disappointed at the total lack of response so far.  Is there no one who wants to go to the cinema any more?  We're literally giving away £150 here and more than a month in, after it was promoted here and in the magazine, not a peep.  I don't believe for one minute none of you have kids or grandchildren.  C'mon you lot, it's not even you doing the work!  Get off your :arse: and enter! :t-up:

Kids and grandkids at that age don't know what drawing a picture is nowadays, even Etch a Sketch is old hat.  A lot of the younger generation of parents don't like messy Crayons or paint, someones got to clear it up .

I expect entries will pick up as the nights get longer and so they can't play out in the evenings. Apart from the 13-16 year old age group who will still be out terrorising the daily mail reading community :d

Two of mine are working on their entries as we speak.

The thought of £50 to spend in cineworld sent them into popcorn sugary meltdown! :-)
