Dear Fellow Members

The club is keenly aware that the partners of our club members deserve our collective thanks in recognition of the fact of the sacrifices they make to support us and all the time, money and effort we lavish on our bits on the side Westfields, and also supporting what many of us do with and for the club.  So it's time for the Reward My Partner Contest! :t-up:

The prize is for your partner - a luxury spa day just for them, so they can get a chance to get away from it all, relax, have a massage, get a facial and chill out away from you (and any rug rats you may own - but especially from you!).  They certainly deserve a reward for what they put up with (again...mainly you!).

But I'm afraid it's going to be YOU, the member, who has to do the work to earn their prize.  Write and tell us exactly how much your partner supports you with your Westfield obsession, what they have to suffer and sacrifice, and because of that, why they deserve a bit of pampering.  If your partner doesn't win, you'll at least remember and realise how much they do for you - and if you're smart, you'll show them what you wrote before you send it in and gain yourself a few extra brownie points at home (and let's face it, we all need as many brownie points as we can get).

The contest is limited to regular UK-based WSCC Members, Speed Series Competitors and Area Organisers only - no Traders, Sponsors, or Committee Members.  The contest will also be publicised in the Autumn issue of Westfield World, and the winner announced in the Winter issue of Westfield World which will be sent out in December.

How To Enter:

Either send an email to chairman@wscc.co.uk or a post to Reward My Partner, c/o 74 Radford Road, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire CV31 1JG.  Closing date is midnight on Friday 14th November 2014.  Include your name and your partner’s name, address and phone number with your entry.  Judge's decision is final - and Lady Chairman will be the judge on this one, so make it good!  If you wish to submit supporting evidence in the form of photos, video, medical evidence of Westfield-related nervous exhaustion, etc. then feel free to do so.  Entries are the property of the WSCC, and entries sent by post cannot be returned unless submitted with a self-addressed and appropriately stamped envelope.  You agree to your entry being published in Westfield World and online in the WSCC forums, either as extracts or in its entirety.  Prize must be redeemed within 12 months, is non-transferable and no substitute prize or cash equivalent will be offered.  Prize winner will be able to select which facility they wish to use from a nationwide list of over 100 spas at convenient, easy to reach locations.

Over to you - get busy and show your partner how much you care about them!  :t-up:

Your exactly right my wife has put up with me being away lots of weekends racing whilst struggling with two small children (a few years ago now) at home by herself and all the nights preparing the car

The anger when something goes wrong or breaks

The endless expense of running the car so not being able to afford holidays as often as we could of

The worry of me hurting myself in the car after her second cousin was killed in a caterham at goodwood

So yes your right she does deserve pampering and a lot more if my attention

So I have sold the V8

Actually, and I know this is hard to believe, but I had also given it some thought.  I considered dragging out the WAG thing, but we do have lady club members as well whose partners are also eligible to win the prize.  However, I was a bit reluctant to add boyfriends and husbands to WAGs, because that would mean they'd be called BAHs (insert your own ill-advised joke here). :d

Come on you lot, get busy and enter today - the names of those who entered will be published so you'll get cred points with your partner even if you don't win.

It will be announced in the next issue of WW as well.

Finally, you best not forget who's arranged this - despicable me.  You know that if if I bump into your partner at the Awards Dinner or Stoneleigh or anywhere, I'll tell them whether or not you entered the contest.  You could be king for a day, or stuck in the doghouse (again).  Think about it.

Have to say this contest seems odd . In this day and age why are we assuming the partner is female - ? We certainly have female members whose partner may be male , there may be male members with male partners.

Indeed, hence my frequent use of the word partner without mentioning gender.  If you go to a spa, you'll see quite a few gents enjoying a back massage, using the gym, having a round of golf, swimming, etc.

At the moment however, the point is a bit moot as I have only received one entry so far.  Very disappointed indeed.
