Stoneleigh virgin

Kingster

Recommended Posts

I am looking to get to Stoneleigh on the Sunday afternoon, camp overnight and browse on Monday.

Never having been before - and still awaiting collection of my shiny new Westie starter kit at the end of May - can you kind chaps give me some pointers?

Mainly want to know where do I park/camp/eat, and what's a 'must do'?

Also, in terms of cost, do I need to pay for camping or does that come in with the club membership?

Cheers

Chris

Just turn up and get yourself to the Westfield enclosure. There will be plenty of folk around to steer you where you want to go. A fair bit to see around the place and some good banter. Probably see you there. Get some refreshments etc and plan your day.

Not sure of the camping charges etc but someone will be along very soon I'm sure.

If it was up to us, it'd be free, but we don't run the show - sorry.

What's a must do?  Bring money and your flexible friends, they'll take a bit of a battering when you see all the stuff on offer!

See you there! :)

Some more direct answers...

Unless you are part of the team helping out then the following apply:

  • Mainly want to know where do I park/camp/eat, and what's a 'must do'?
    • Public car park which is identified as 2 here which I believe is the nearest to the camping
    • There is plenty to choose from food wise, join as at the WSCC AGM and the BBQ afterwards
    • Everything is a must do but most importantly come and see us on Plot 53 and attend the AGM
  • Also, in terms of cost, do I need to pay for camping or does that come in with the club membership?
    • I think it's £30.00 for entrance and camping for the entire weekend
    • As said, we have no control on entrance and camping apart from those who are giving up their time to set-up and run the show

Thanks for the info folks, I was just a little unsure as to camping because the main Stoneleigh info thread stated "Club Camping available as usual" and as I haven't a clue what is usual, mankinis aside(!), I thought I'd ask.

Right, I'll cough up my £30 then!

Cheers

hi all sorry but im nearly in the same boat as Kingster, I have been to Stoneleigh a few times but never camped there, I am hoping to get there mid afternoon on Saturday in my Westfield but not really sure where to go ( is the Camping generic or do the WSCC members have their own area ?? )

I was planning to travel there with my family ( which is no longer possible ) so although its now a bit late if I can be put to good use anywhere then im more than happy to help out where I can if required.

Just need to know if I should come straight to the external wscc marque before I set my tent up

Cheers all

Member camping (ooo er, missus) is on the WSCC green immediately behind and to the right of the WSCC exterior marquee, next to the Westfield Drifting Experience, so come through the main gate and pay there, look for us on the right after 100 yards and we'll sort you out. :)

Ah, glad this has been confirmed. I was going to end up in with the rabble!

So, just to confirm, us members can camp on the club area? What about parking, or do I need to lug gear half a mile? Do we still pay Stoneleigh organisers for this?

Ps also happy to chip in and help Sunday pm and Monday.

Yes, you camp in our club area. :) You can park your Westfield there or on the exterior stand, room for hundreds of Westfields, no problems.  Pay at the main entrance.

Cheers Scott, unfortunately my westfield is still being made by the folks in the factory!

So I guess I need to park my tin top out of sight ;-)

You can usually park near to our camping area, that's what most seemed to do last year, anyway. From our camping area, it's a short, short stroll, or crawl if you've sampled the Vodka jelly to either the toilet block, or the little cafe/shop for strong coffee and fried breakfast. From there it's barely a hundred yards to the marquee.

In fact, when you see just what a prime set of locations we have, you'll realise how big a part of Stoneleigh the WSCC is! Makes you feel all warm inside  ;)  :d
